What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a gentle yet highly effective system of medicine which has been used for over 200 years. Specially prepared, highly diluted substances (e.g. from plants or minerals) are given, mainly in tablet or liquid form, often referred to as remedies, which assist the body to heal itself and strengthen the immune system.

These remedies are safe, natural, non-toxic without unwanted side effects, making it ideal for people of all ages and all stages of life from birth to old age. Prescriptions are tailored to each individual patient according to their specific symptoms.

Bottles of ingredients used in Homeopathy

This holistic medicine is based on the principle that ‘like cures like’ which means that a substance that can cause certain symptoms in a healthy person can cure similar symptoms in an unhealthy person. A simple example of this is a homeopathic remedy called Allium Cepa which is made out of an onion. It’s used to treat, among other things, a cold with watery eyes and a runny nose. If you've cut open an onion you'll notice these same symptoms. When the remedy Allium Cepa is taken it activates the body to go about the process of alleviating the watery eyes and runny nose.

Dropelets of water

Homeopathy is a system of medicine that treats the individual with highly diluted substances. The remedies are prepared by specialist pharmacies using a careful process of dilution and succussion. The original substance is mixed with a solution of water or alcohol and is then succussed. The number of times that this process is repeated determines the strength or potency of the remedy.
